About The Mississippi Mutts
I was raised by my Maw Maw Berdie. She told me that her father was a Choctaw Indian and was offered a land allotment, if he would stay in Alabama. This is what I would like to find proof of. We are also related to Lottie Moon, the famous missionary who devoted her life to helping others.

From England to the Carolinas, to Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas, it's a never ending search for family. I thought the title "The Mississippi Mutts" suited us since my ancestors are from different races. From Choctaw and Cherokee to English, French, Mexican and African American, we are all family, regardless of our skin color.

My sources come from interviews, census records, cemetery visits, and other family member's research over the years. I would like to thank everyone who helped me in my quest for my ancestors. Needless to say, there have been a few surprises along this journey. You never really know who you are related to until you start digging! Feel free to personally email me: sassy38915@yahoo.com
